Core Training Curriculum
The course provides an in-depth breakdown of safe operation, equipment mechanics, and hazard prevention for all classifications of mobile elevating work platforms.
Equipment Familiarization & Inspection

MEWP Classifications: Group A/B and Type 1/2/3 equipment identification (Scissor lifts, boom lifts, stock pickers).

Pre-Start Inspections: Step-by-step walkthrough of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component checks.

Workplace Inspections: Evaluating the job site for slope hazards, overhead obstructions, power lines, and floor load capacities.
Safe Operation & Hazard Prevention

Fall Protection Requirements: Proper selection, inspection, and anchoring of harnesses and lanyards.

Stability & Tip-Over Prevention: Understanding the machine's center of gravity, load capacities, and wind speed restrictions.

Safe Traveling & Positioning: Correct maneuvering protocols near ground workers, structures, and blind spots.

Emergency Rescue Planning: Establishing ground-level override controls and emergency lowering procedures.
Course Duration & Requirements

Initial Certification: Requires classroom theory, a written exam, and a mandatory hands-on practical evaluation.

Maintaining Eligibility: Requires a re-evaluation at least every 3 years, or immediately following an accident, near-miss, or introduction of new equipment.
